An "upscale" ryokan that may be more preferable to those looking for a mix of western amenities and Japanese baths. The food was amazing, with flavours that are a bit more bold that traditional ryokan kaiseki. The service was impeccable, and the baths themselves were spacious and modern. They have a bus service to and from Wado station, and from there it's a short train ride to either Chichibu or Nagatoro. There are also many shrines, hiking trails, and other activities in the area. Definitely consider Wado if you are looking for a relaxing getaway in Japan that's off the beaten path.

The purpose of this trip was to spend some time relaxing at the inn. It was a very hot day, so I was very grateful that you came to a convenience store near the station to pick me up.The view from the open-air bath was great, and the staff were all very kind, which left me with good memories.

Great stay with all the extras. Booked a Japanese style room with a private outdoor hot tub. Room was comfy and the tub awesome. Service was truly outstanding and the dinner was almost too much food. Really relaxing and would stay here again. Very limited English, so be ready to have an adventure if you don’t speak the language.

Thank you to the owner for treating us. Amazingly polite and kind staff. The food was delicious and itself an art. The place was very clean including the communal bath.
